Optimizing the swap files in Windows XP

First, open system properties then click on advanced tab. Then choose settings from performance section , now choose the advanced tab , change virtual memory settings according to the following. The page file is by  default store in the drive where the OS is installed and is set to 1.5 times of actual RAM , so choose “ no paging files” for that drive. Now select “ custom size” for another drive and said its size to double of RAM installed on your computer. It will a cool idea if you defrag that drive where the page file will be stored.
